Waihora Battle - November 2015
IMCF Bohurt & 1v1 Competitions

Hosted by David Briscoe of the Steel Thorns, at his farm  near Taupo, in his newly built list field!

Waikato Armoured combat teamed up with Tauranga Armoured Combat and won the Bohurts competition.

Rob won the Longsword. Clint won Sword and Shield.

Congratulations to all the competitors and organisors for a great event!

 

Tattoo Cup - Hamilton - February 21st & 22nd , 2015.

The Tattoo Cup was a great success for WAC, both on and off the field. Our 3 fighters: Rob, Julian and Chris with the addition of Charlie from TACL, won the inaugural Tattoo Cup 4v4 tournament, and all our fighters won their Pro-fights.

Auckland Armageddon 2014

Labour Weekend 2014 saw us back at Auckland Armageddon, this year hosted by ORCS and TPAC.

 

Fighting on Saturday and Sunday, the boys from WAC (Rob and Julian) looked pretty flash in the new WAC tabards and enjoyed fighting Dave and Vaughan from TPAC.

 

 

Introduction to WAC and HMB

On the weekend of the 5th til the 7th September 2014, we held an introduction to HMB weekend.

 

Friday night we watched videos from BotN 2014, with fighting on Saturday, and shield making and general discussion about armour, weapons etc. on Sunday

 

We had a great turnout and was really impressed with all of the fighters and non-combatant participants over the weekend. Glad to have you on board!

Tattoo Expo, Feb 2014

Our first time at the Tattoo Expo, 2014, was very well received by the crowd. It was a small event but pulled together fighters from Picton, Wellington, Tauranga and Auckland.

It was a hot couple of days of fighting but a great success, with several fighters on the field for their first tournament

Taupo Medieval Faire

Back for its second year, the Taupo Medieval Faire ran HMB team fights with teams from both NZ and Aus competing.

One of the highlights for the fighters was the game of "Jugger" played HMB style.  Luckily someone caught a snippet of the action! 

Since this event, one of the founding organisors, Graham Eyre, has passed away. WAC hope that the legacy of this event will be his for many more years to come.

 

 

Queen's Birthday Weekend - The Cloud @ Queens Wharf. 30-31st May 2015

A great wee event consisting both of NAAMA fighting and HMB group and 1v1 fights. 2 new WAC fighters debuted - Connor and Clint, and did very well!

Saturday - 3v3 teams clashed outside on the wharf. 3 fighters represented Tauranga Armoured Combat and fought a combined WAC and TPAC team. 

Sunday - torrential rain moved the medieval display and armouring area into the Cloud itself - including tents, and fighting into a much shrunk list field between two rows of vintage cars (scary!) so a 1v1 sword and shield was fought instead. 
 

Armageddon Auckland 2013

The Auckland Armageddon was  a powerhouse fundraising event for HMBNZ.

 

Clubs worked side by side to make this event a success.

We managed to fundraise all of the airfare for Maciej to come from Poland and conduct a Marshall's summit. Which we had in November 2013.

Aussies Bryce and Skye come over for their second Armageddon, it is always a pleasure seeing and fighting with them!

Pacific Cup - Waitangi Weekend 2016

IMCF Bohurt & 1v1 Competitions

Hosted by David Briscoe again, and organised by NZFCMC!

Waikato Armoured combat once again teamed up with Tauranga Armoured Combat and won both the 5v5 and 3v3 Bohurts competition.

None of our fighters stayed for the second day of 1v1 competition. Congratulations to all the competitors and organisors for a great event!
 

Tattoo Cup - Tauranga - March 2016.

Our Flagship event moved, with the Tattoo Expo, to Tauranga in 2016. We were once again teamed with Tauranga Armoured Combat, both on and off the feild as joint-organisors of the event. 

40 fighters from Australia did battle in our 4v4 tournament, and 1v1 categories.

WAC and TAC won the Tattoo Cup for another year, but only by a 1 point margin from 2 of the Aussie teams. It will be interesting to see who takes it in 2017!

Battle of the Nations - Prague, 2016

We sent 4 fighters from WAC to the Battle of the Nations in Prague, 2016. Rob (Captain), Clint, Julian and Ross. Sarah and Sue traveled as support crew.

All fought well and the experience of competition at that level has been invaluable to them as individuals and for us as a club.

 

Te Puke Exhibition Fights - August 2016.

Charlie from Tauranga Armoured Combat managed to get us some fights as half time entertainment at a kick boxing tournament he was fighting in.

Rob fought David Briscoe of the Steel Thorns in a fast and furious longsword fight. Rob won, but both put in a great fight for the audience, who were on their feet and cheering the boys on.

Slavoj got in the lists for his first NZ fight, a profight against Clint. Again the crowd were roaring their approval for the boys!

Taupo Fight Night - September 2016


David Briscoe hosted an exhibition tournament at the Great Lakes Centre in Taupo. 

The venue was great. Sadly the audience numbers where a lower than expected but that didn't stop all the fighters from bringing their "A" game and putting in a great performance. 

Once again the WAC/TAC combination won the day, with both teams chopping and changing members to test all combinations. In the end it came down to a 1v1 between Charlie and Rob, with Charlie the victor. 

Waihora Battle November 2016


David Briscoe hosted  Waihora Battle again, with NZFCMC running the event

Once again the WAC/TAC combination won the 5v5 tournament to secure the trophy for the second time. Rob won the longsword tournament on the second day.,

Pacific Cup, Levin, February 2017

Held in conjunction with the Levin Medieval Carnival, the Pacific Cup, NZ's IMCF National championship and qualifiing tournament was, once again a successful outing for the WAC/TAC crew. 

We took out the 5v5 Pacific Cup to retain the beautiful cup for a second year!
